iPad Mini and Procreate

I recently, as in September 2012, moved to Hong Kong to teach at Savannah College of Art and Design. I picked up an iPad mini over Christmas after successfully passing my survival cantonese class and have been playing around with the Procreate painting app. The interface is fantastic and easy to use. They've come up with a system that doesn't require much digging to get to the essential tools and settings. Also the brush engine allows for a lot of customization. I made a square brush that I used extensively for one of these sketches, which I think turned out pretty well.

updated April 19 to put in larger pictures and somewhat value corrected in photoshop.

Rack N Ruin

Tyler Hunter, a former high end 3D modeler for Blizzard, quit recently to develop his own indie games. He hired me to do a few concept pieces to be used for inspiration and promotion of his project. Each image represents different areas or environments of the game.

He just put it up on Kickstarter to crowdsource the funding of the remaining stages of the developing the game.

He's putting together a pretty stellar team for the remaining development and your funding could go a long way to making it be as perfect as possible.  Not to mention the great prizes for kickstarter supporters he's put together.

Here are the images I created for it.

Portfolio Updated

Rainland Studios updated its illustration portfolio. Check it out.

The image below is from the Toy Story 3 game. It was also used as a background for some of the advertising.
